Jonathan and I really wanted to do something special for the kids because of all their hard work at Buhl Academy this semester. Lily and Maddy not once complained about being pulled out of school to be Homeschooled and they really poured their hearts into learning their academics, but most importantly, learning more about our Lord and Savior. They worked really hard to get all of their work done by May 27th. And we are pleased to say that Katy and Parker did very well with the big transition also. To God be the glory!
So, on the morning of Memorial Day, May 30th, we woke up the kids to tell them our big surprise..."We're going to the Beach today!!!"
Here are their sleepy reactions...
We arrived at the Long Bay Resort in Myrtle Beach that evening and enjoyed a little play time in the sand. The next morning we got up early and spent the entire day having fun in the sun! Here are pictures from our first day:

After several hours at the beach we headed to the pools and Silly Submarine at our hotel.
We had lots of fun on our first full day at the beach! It was so refreshing to get away and just be together as a family! More pictures of our trip to come!
