An Eggs-tra Fun Day!

School was out today for Good Friday, so I thought it would be eggs-tra fun to dye Easter eggs! This is one of my favorite things to do. It was just the 3 girls and I dyeing eggs while Parker took a much needed 3 hour nap after spending the morning at the Doctor's office receiving a breathing treatment for his coughing and wheezing, and being diagnosed with an Ear Infection! Here are the girls with their first eggs ready to begin:

Their favorite part was putting the tablet into the cup and watching it change color. Maddy chose her favorite yellow: Lily chose what she thought was pink, but turned out red!:And Katy picked blue. She wasn't sure what was going to happen to the little tablet at first,but then she got egg-cited when she saw the water turning blue! Maddy wanted a design on her egg, so she used the white crayon to draw polka dots: Here are the girls checking their eggs to see if they are ready: Katy was oh so very careful:and so proud of her pretty blue egg:After their first egg was finished, the girls begged to make new colors. They were fascinated with stirring and getting their dye ready for the next egg. Maddy made a beautiful turquoise: and Katy made another red: Lily was a little disappointed that her dye turned purple instead of pink:but she was egg-cited about the pretty lime-green colored egg she made next:The girls were so very proud of their eggs especially since they got to display them on our cute little bunny holder from their Grandmother Buhl: And of course they are super egg-cited about Easter!When Parker woke up from his nap, he was feeling a little bit betterand so I wanted him to have a little eggs-tra fun too! When I gave him an egg, he studied it for a secondand then of course the egg went straight into his mouth!: Then he thought it would be eggs-tra fun to bang the egg on his tray: It was completely cracked open by the time he was done playing with it! Maddy had made Parker a blue egg for his first Easter and he just loved it!
